Indoor Water Park in Algarve, in 2020

Next year will witness the first indoor water park of the Iberian Peninsula, in Algarve. The facility is being built inside the existing AquaShow.

The indoor facility will include a spa, jacuzzi, and other wellness services and facilities. There will be several levels of deepness in the pools, massage water jets, and, of course, all sorts of slides.

The indoor facility is going to be a big plus for Algarve low season, allowing occasional tourists to be there all year. The facilities included also ensure that it will be attractive to all kinds of visitors, and not only for families with small children.

The new facility will be placed at Quarteira, in the Loulé municipality in Central Algarve (a mere 15 minutes from the Faro airport). AquaShow is right next to the Golden Triangle area of Algarve, a few minutes away from Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

Algarvian golf courses on top

On an unrelated note, the golf course of Algarve continues to be rated among the very best. According to Portugal Resident, the golfing magazine Golf World has rated Monte Rei Golf & Country Club as the 4th best course in the world.

Several other Algarvian facilities are mentioned in the list of the 100 courses of the world elaborated by the magazine, which include Quinta do Lago, Palmares Golf Course, and Vilamoura Old Course. The list included some other Portuguese courses, from Lisbon and Oeste regions, making it 10 out of 100.

Still, according to Portugal Resident, the golfing magazine adds that there are currently 20 countries represented, which makes it all more impressive for Portugal to have 10% of the distinctions.

“Design quality, configuration, playability, presentation, memorability and consistency of the hole” were the six items rated and evaluated by the magazine.
